Lucky #13 (Months with Madi)

Madison Mae at 13 Months:

DO NOT PARK (IT) HERE! :)

WALKING TALL SMALL

*  WALKING...finally!  We thought this tenacious, little nutball would be sprinting at 9 months with her wiggly, fun nature.  But luckily she held off and is just now perfecting the art of strutin' her stuff.  Momma finally had to lay down the law and tell Madi that she could only come to the hospital to meet her baby sister if she could WALK in under the power of her own two feet!  So we got busy practicing and went to the tennis courts almost daily with her dino walker to get a move on.  The practice paid off and she is tearing around the house now.  She gets so proud of herself after her long, upright stretches and screams with shrieks of joy!
*  LOVES BOOKS!  She literally spends hours bringing book after book to Momma, plopping herself on her lap (we love the way she backs it up and parks it on your lap), for reading adventure after reading adventure.  She especially loves books with animals (knows lots of animal sounds), dinosaurs, and babies.
*  LOVES ANIMALS!  We walk to the fairgrounds often to see the horsies.  She says a big, "HI" to every doggy we pass as we walk the river trail every day.  But her favorite animal by far is the MONKEY (go figure).  Luckily, we get to see the clever little capuchins at the little zoo down the street almost daily.
*  IS AN ADVENTURE BABY!  She INSISTS on getting out at least three times daily for a walking/strolling/park/zoo/library/fairgrounds/shopping adventure.  So after breakfast, lunch, and dinner we're out and about living life to the fullest.  If not, there is heck to pay.  Madi does not do well with boredom and will screetch and fuss til her cries force us out the door.
*  HAS SWEET, TENDER MOMENTS OF LOVE AND AFFECTION!  When she isn't going a million miles an hour, Madi will pause to give sweet hugs and delicious kisses.  I think we've confused her because she's pretty sure "baby" means Momma's big bellybutton.  She gives my tummy kisses but doesn't have a clue how her witto life is going to change in a month.

Madison continues to be our little dollbaby.  Mom has big moments of panic when she wonders what in the world we'll ever do with two tiny babies.  I've talked to several people who say twins would be easier--at least they are the same schedule, eating the same thing, sleeping at the same time.  Last night, our neighbor with boys 14 months apart said, "Oh, just give it about three years."  AAAAAA!  We'll all be a sleep-deprived mess but hopefully someday it will be worth it!  :)  Baby sister is due to arrive August 6th.  Momma is terrified but so huge, hot, and uncomfortable, she'll be ready!

Stinky Socks = HILARIOUS!

Madi is the master of chuckles, giggles, snickers, and guffaws.  But I LOVE Madi's deep, belly-laugh the most!  So I had to catch her laughing her guts out last night as Daddy showed her how to smell stinky socks and yell, "P.U.!"  Sooooo cute!

Warmin' Up!

Lily's Swimming Adventures Video

On Saturday, June 23rd, we jetted over to Newton Reservoir to cool off on a very hot day.  Mads loved splashing in the muddy water, sucking on rocks, and swimming with Daddy.  It was so fun to watch Lily, the chihuahua, swim for the first time.  After some lake fun, we found a great park to grill hamburgers in and had a yummy dinner, thanks to Daddy/Matty.  We love our mini-adventures and fun-in-the-sun family times.

Father's Day June 2012--Madi loves Matty/Daddy

On Daddy's Day, we drove out to a beautiful park in Millville for a steak cookout after church (and naps).  We had so much fun celebrating Marvelous Matthew, world's best Daddy.  I think he loved his golf pass and membership to Men's League at the Logan River Golf Course (hey, it may be the last time the golf course is our backyard).  Matt loves to play with his babygirl and makes her shriek with delight when he throws her up in the air (never failing to safely catch her), pushes her on the swing, wrestles and tickles her.  Madi lights up when Daddy comes in the room and booms out, "Hi, Dad!"  We do love Marvelous Matthew Michael and feel like the luckiest ladies in the whole, wide world!

Blanding Adventures--June Family Vacation

We had a blast on our vacation in Blanding, UT with Grandma and Grandpa Black.  Every day was complete and total PERFECTION--packed with adventures, R & R, tons o' fun, and love galore!  On Monday, we all slept in, then Matt went to Monticello to golf while Kaye, Madi, and Grandpa took a fun stroller ride/walk.  Grandma Black, the bestest little tour guide there is, gave us an in-depth (yet 1-year old appropriate) tour of the Dinosaur Museum.  Madi LOVED those rascally reptiles and has not been the same since!  She growls like a mighty T-Rex and brings me book after book featuring her dinosaur friends.  Madison also had her first swimming pool adventure and took to the water like a witto fishy.

During our vacation week, Madi took her first 4-wheeler ride, spent lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa (Matt and I were even able to go on a date without our little tumor tagging along), went to the Patio to eat, went on a fun hike up to the Nizhoni Indian Ruins (nearly disastrous--Mom, at 8 months pregnant, had to carry Madi up the hot trail and backpack her down because she was being a CLINGY little Momma's girl), went lake swimming and rafting with the cousins at Dry Wash (Madder Doon loved playing in the mud and had no fear of the freezing lake water), loved meeting her Story cousins (Kellie's family was in the middle of their move to California from D.C. and we were able to rendevouz), loved playing with Grandma Black's toys and rolling on her big, fluffly rug, and overall just had the time of her little life!

We also loved our time in Price on the way back home where we played with Grandma Patsy and Aunt Jenn & Uncle Paul + Cousin Kanyon.  We went to the wavepool and had tons of fun, had a cookout at the Colosimo's gorgeous home, and had tons of fun at Grandma's house (Madi slept like a rock and was so peaceful and content.  We love our small town roots and enjoyed every second of our fabulous vacation.

LOVE THIS PIC....AAAAAAA!
