Madi's BIG Announcement

Madison Mae joyfully announces:
Come August 6th (or thereabouts)
Madi will become a
BIG SIS
to a
LITTLE MISS!

She has no idea how her little life is going to change.
Well, maybe an inkling!

Momma is 5 months pregnant with another little princess! We found out we were pregnant when little Madi was just six months old (those of you with twinner tots close together, please leave comforting remarks, tips, and pointers). It was quite the shocker. Matt and I were very overwhelmed but also incredibly grateful. We thought Madi may have been a lucky fluke and didn't know I was such a "fertile Myrtle." This pregnancy has been very different from Madi's. I'm not sure if it's being home, not teaching, and having the time to agonize over every little symptom, but I've been much sicker this go-around, nauseous with horrible headaches. For this reason, we thought we might be having a little boy. When the sonogram tech revealed the gender, I looked away and Matt did such a great job celebrating and keeping the secret. For two hours, I was sure we were having a little guy. But after a trip to Kohl's and a yummy lunch, Matt let me unwrap the new baby outfits he'd purchased and I discovered Madi is on her way to meeting her bestest sister friend. We are thrilled and wouldn't have it any other way!

P.S. THE BALLOONS NEVER LIE! When we went in for our first appointment at 12 weeks, I surprised Matt with the blue and pink balloons that he originally surprised me with when we went in for Madi's first appointment. Whichever balloon stays inflated the longest determines the gender. And even when we were thinking blue, that tenacious pink balloon would not be bested. It far outlasted its wimpy brother. So never doubt the power of the helium oracle!

Congratulations! Oscar and Iris are 13 months and 1 week apart and it is a handful. But I get by and you will too. Are you going to be at Becca's wedding? We can talk more then.
