Lucky #13 (Months with Madi)

Madison Mae at 13 Months:

DO NOT PARK (IT) HERE! :)

WALKING TALL SMALL

*  WALKING...finally!  We thought this tenacious, little nutball would be sprinting at 9 months with her wiggly, fun nature.  But luckily she held off and is just now perfecting the art of strutin' her stuff.  Momma finally had to lay down the law and tell Madi that she could only come to the hospital to meet her baby sister if she could WALK in under the power of her own two feet!  So we got busy practicing and went to the tennis courts almost daily with her dino walker to get a move on.  The practice paid off and she is tearing around the house now.  She gets so proud of herself after her long, upright stretches and screams with shrieks of joy!
*  LOVES BOOKS!  She literally spends hours bringing book after book to Momma, plopping herself on her lap (we love the way she backs it up and parks it on your lap), for reading adventure after reading adventure.  She especially loves books with animals (knows lots of animal sounds), dinosaurs, and babies.
*  LOVES ANIMALS!  We walk to the fairgrounds often to see the horsies.  She says a big, "HI" to every doggy we pass as we walk the river trail every day.  But her favorite animal by far is the MONKEY (go figure).  Luckily, we get to see the clever little capuchins at the little zoo down the street almost daily.
*  IS AN ADVENTURE BABY!  She INSISTS on getting out at least three times daily for a walking/strolling/park/zoo/library/fairgrounds/shopping adventure.  So after breakfast, lunch, and dinner we're out and about living life to the fullest.  If not, there is heck to pay.  Madi does not do well with boredom and will screetch and fuss til her cries force us out the door.
*  HAS SWEET, TENDER MOMENTS OF LOVE AND AFFECTION!  When she isn't going a million miles an hour, Madi will pause to give sweet hugs and delicious kisses.  I think we've confused her because she's pretty sure "baby" means Momma's big bellybutton.  She gives my tummy kisses but doesn't have a clue how her witto life is going to change in a month.

Madison continues to be our little dollbaby.  Mom has big moments of panic when she wonders what in the world we'll ever do with two tiny babies.  I've talked to several people who say twins would be easier--at least they are the same schedule, eating the same thing, sleeping at the same time.  Last night, our neighbor with boys 14 months apart said, "Oh, just give it about three years."  AAAAAA!  We'll all be a sleep-deprived mess but hopefully someday it will be worth it!  :)  Baby sister is due to arrive August 6th.  Momma is terrified but so huge, hot, and uncomfortable, she'll be ready!
