Halloween Day

Matt had to work til 10 p.m. on Halloween night...SPOOKY, I know!  So we made the most of his short break between student teaching and work and took our witto pups trick or treating on Main Street.  Madi loved the idea of complete strangers greeting her with delicious candy and especially enjoyed people watching and all the cute kiddo's costumes.  The spooky decorations were delightful.  Madi shrieks in feigned terror when she sees a spider decoration and than boldly swipes or kicks at it, yelling, "SQUISH IT!"  She cackles/giggles when she sees a witch and knows that ghosts say, "BOO!"  Madison loved dressing up all month long, spotting as many pumpkins as possible, and crunching/kicking the mounds of fall leaves.  The Halloween season was just a delight for Miss Madi and co.

Main Street--Logan, Utah--October 31, 2012

Ma, Pa, and Pups.  I think Matt looks sooooo handsome but he was embarrassed in his work duds.  He loads or unloads sweaty trailers for hours on end at UPS, grueling and intense work that requires less than formal attire.  On the bright side, those lovely muscles are a positive side-effect of the job and look great in any picture! :)
Love this Darling, Delightful Dalmatian

Saucy Pink Poodle Dog

Madi and Mama

I shoulda dressed up as a dog trainer...definitely needed some choke chains, leashes :)

Hannah and Mommy sporting their polka dots and SMILES!
That evening, we felt a little sad and lonely at the festivities without Dad.  I felt like a single mom--awkward and overwhelmed trying to stay near Hannah in the stroller while letting Madi mingle at the Halloween party. We made a circuit at the church trunk-or-treat in the big parking lot.  I had to teach Madi to select the chocolate morsels for Mom when offered a choice, but she still preferred the ucky dum-dums and tried to stick them straight into her mouth rather than collecting them in the bag.  She was a sticky, happy monkey as we strolled home in the dark.
